How to Add Reverb Effect to Sound in Audition

If you’ve ever wanted to give your sound a haunting effect, you can use the reverb effect.

This is more of a “fun” effect. You probably won’t use it for any serious projects, but if it fits the theme of your project, then go for it!

After you’ve imported your audio file into Adobe Audition, it should look something like this:

At the top of the screen, you can click the Effects tab.

From this dropdown menu, you actually have many choices of effects to choose from. If you decide to not use the reverb effect, you have many different options to play with such as Delay and Echo, Modulation, and Time and Pitch.

For this tutorial, we’re selecting the reverb effect. So go to Reverb > Surround Reverb as demonstrated below:

This menu will pop up, and you can adjust the levels of the sound as you like.

Or you can click the “Default” dropdown menu and select a pre-made effect.

I’ve selected the “In The Church” option to give a spooky church vibe, but you can choose whichever one works for you. Play around with it and see which effect works best for your audio track!
